From 2011 to 2018 I ran this literary development organisation with Belona Greenwood. It supported women writers nationally but primarily women writers from the Eastern region. Events included an annual prose competition resulting in the publication of an annual anthology, International Women’s Day celebrations (shortlisted for Best One-Off Event 2015, Saboteur Awards), readings, a garden festival held as part of The Chelsea Fringe, and individual special projects such as Space (see below), a film about women’s writing space which was commissioned by us and directed by Jean Hogg.
The organisation received funding from the Arts Council, the Co-Op Community Fund, and the Norfolk Arts Project Fund. It was runner-up twice in the Women In Publishing New Venture Award in 2015 & 2016, and was awarded an Norfolk Arts’ Outstanding Contribution to the Arts Award 2018.
